Las cartas de Emilia

Siempre me gustaron las cartas por la espera y la sorpresa, de saber que algo te va a llegar, pero no sabes bien qué es. Fue más o menos por el 2006 que se me ocurrió hacer "Las cartas de Emilia",  pero por inseguridades, flojeras y desidias recién fue en el 2011 que dejé la primera carta. 

¿En qué consiste? pues ando dejando cartas por donde viajo, camino y piso. No tengo una rutina de una carta al día, a la semana o al mes, simplemente es cuando me provoca contar un secreto, un pasado o una alegría. 

Han pasado dos años y medios y he dejado poquísimas cartas, es que hay que tener tiempo.  27 son las cartas que he dejado en las calles y unas 5 con destinatario... Muchas se perdieron en el camino y después nunca se si alguna fue encontrada. 

Hasta la fecha he dejado cartas en Lima, Iquitos, Cajamarca, Tallin, Helsinki, Turku, Budapest, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Porto, Toronto, Ottawa y el Khorbat. He enviado a Alicante, Porto, Barcelona, Sevilla y Helsinki a gente que por ahí blog y me lo pidió. Ojalá este año envíe más de 12, que viendo el blog parece ser mi constante.

I always liked letters because of the wait and the surprise of knowing that something is coming, but don't know what it is. It was around  2006 I thought about a project, "Emilia's Letters", but insecurities, and prolonged laziness stopped me from doing it. It was in 2011 that I decided to do it and so I left the first letter.

What is it?  Basically I walk around leaving letters in the places I travel or visit or live. I don't have a routine of a letter a day, a week or a month, it's just when I have a secret a past or a joy I feel sharing.

It has been two and a half years and I have left very few letters, is just that sometimes you have to have time. 27 are the letters I have left in the streets and a 5 more with recipient ... Many got lost in the way, and then I never knew if any of the letters I left was ever found.

To the date I have left letters in Lima, Iquitos, Cajamarca, Tallinn, Helsinki, Turku, Budapest, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Porto, Toronto, Ottawa and Khorbat. I have sent to Alicante, Porto, Barcelona, Seville and Helsinki to people out there who has found the blog and asked me if I would sent them letters. Hopefully this year  I get to send more than 12.
