Quiero empezar a usar más color en lo que hago, así que me compré unos cuantos plumones y he comenzado a usarlos en cosas pequeñas, como estas siamesas. 

Las primerizas

Este año muchas amigas y personas cercanas están quedando embarazadas por primera vez y eso ha hecho que quiera dibujar cosas relacionadas. Una de esas cosas fue esta sirena. Salió de una foto que vi de una amiga, pero la cambié bastante (obviamente) y este fue el resultado.

Inspiración - Abel Bentín

Abel Bentín es un artista peruano que desde siempre me llamó la atención y fue más o menos en el 2010 con su exposición Candyvore que su reconocimiento se elevó al universo. Su trabajo es súper variado, va desde ilustraciones a esculturas e instalaciones, pero como yo le voy a más a la imagen, sus ilustraciones son mi parte favorita de su portafolio.

Su trabajo consiste en un mundo surreal en el que habitan seres de una dulzura oscura, es así que vemos personajes como helados malévolos, venados dorados, cráneos bañados en diamantes o rostros de personas y animales con ojos cansados y perversos. 

Sus herramientas son la tinta china y los acrílicos, y con ellos hace unos trazos que parecen seguir un ritmo que se derrite mientras los personajes adquieren sus formas. Abel, es el propietario de un estilo único, tanto en su ilustración como en su escultura, y cada vez que necesito de inspiración sucumbo a su trabajo, en especial al libro que ilustró,  "El bosque que silba".

Abel Bentin is a Peruvian artist who has always caught my attention. It was around 2010 with his exhibition "Candyvore" that his recognition rose to the universe. His work is extremely varied, ranging from illustrations to sculptures and installations, but since I'm more into the image, his illustrations are my favorite part of his portfolio.

His work is captures a  surreal world in which beings live in a dark sweetness, so we see characters like evil ice cream, golden deers and diamond skulls, or people's  and animals' faces with tired and wicked eyes.

His tools are ink and acrylics, and with them a few lines that seem to follow a pace that melts as characters acquire their forms. Abel is the owner of a unique style, both in its illustration as in sculpture, and whenever I need inspiration I succumb to his work, especially the illustrated book, "El bosque que silba".

Estos son unos seres que yo les digo apátridas porque no forman parte de un proyecto ni nada. Salieron y ahí están.

Inspiración . Jeannie Phan

No se bien cómo fue que me enteré de Jeannie Phan y sus increíbles ilustraciones (creo que fue por el tumblr.) Como sea, desde que la sigo no he dejado de admirar su estilo y cada vez más me sorprende la delicadeza de sus trazos a color y la complejidad de muchas de sus imágenes. 

Lo que mas me gusta de ella son sus Fanzines, son tan minuciosos y al menos uno tiene partes hechas a mano, lo cual ya me mata (en este mundo en el que ahora todo es virtual o a máquina, lo hecho a mano se aprecia). Sus ilustraciones se complementan una con otra y te llevan a una historia llena de enredos e introspecciones. La mezcla de texturas, con tinta, acrílico y acuarela le da una autenticidad muy particular a su trabajo.

Qué más puedo decir, en serio esta chica me inspira.

I'm not sure how was it that I discovered Jeannie Phan and her incredible illustrations (I think it was via tumblr.) Anyway, since I follow her work, I haven't stopped admiring her style and I continue to get amazed by the delicacy of her strokes, her pick of colors and the complexity of many of her images.

What I really like about her work are her fanzines, they are so meticulous and thorough and at least one has parts made by hand, which already kills me (in this world where everything is virtual or machine, handmade viewed) . Her illustrations complement each other and take you to a story full of intrigue and insights. The mixture of textures, ink, acrylic and watercolor gives a very special authenticity to her work.

What else can I say, This girl inspires me.

Las primerizas

Este año tengo muchas amigas que han sido y serán mamás. Es raro pensar que ahora o muy pronto estas mujeres hermosas que conozco y quiero tienen o van a tener una pequeña gran extensión de ellas. 

Con mucho amor, espero que hayan tenido un hermoso día. 

Dentro de la selva

Comencé este proyecto de fanzine después de terminar el cuento de Ayamama para Meridian. Básicamente lo que muestro es lo que siento hacia la selva, mis animales y leyendas favoritas. Será cortito pero me emociona hacerlo... Espero que les guste.

frutas

Todavía no tienen nombre, sólo tienen un pasado vegetal. Algunos nacieron de flores, otros de frutas y alguno por ahí de verduras. Como sea, gracias a la selva. siempre.
